The words fitness, gym, weightlifting, etc. are all over every single post on this blog and we read posts like these to learn about the gym and how to lead a better lifestyle, but leading a better lifestyle isn’t all about the gym. As much as we love the gym, the gains that we make, and how good it makes us feel, there are other things that we can do in our daily lives that will also benefit us in the short and long term.

Learning and research, self-care, and quality downtime are all great ways to make sure you’re taking good care of yourself. These are 3 things you can depend on to help progress through life the right way.

Get Into Reading!

For the longest time I hated reading, the only time you would catch me reading a book was for class unless it was either a comic book or something sports related. Don’t get me wrong I’ve always been on the Internet a lot so reading things like other blogs definitely helped but I still recommend reading actual books.

Fiction stuff is cool because it grows your imagination and creativity among other things but what I’m really talking about is the stuff that gives you the inside look at success and how to succeed yourself. My favourite thing about these types of books is how it teaches you knowledge and skills applicable to real life in an entertaining way.

No matter what you’re looking for there’s something for you, and if business or money is your thing you’ll never run out of best-selling books to read.

Set up a Solid Self-Care Routine

I don’t care if self-care isn’t “cool” for guys to do, no woman is going to like you if you’re musty and don’t have it together. Having a good routine is just going to make you feel better anyway so you might as well give it a try. Making sure you’re always well-fed is a great place to start (not to mention the benefits you will get in the gym doing this) but what a lot of people really lack is personal hygiene. I want to make it clear that taking a shower once a day isn’t all it takes to make sure you’re a generally appealing person that people want to deal with.

First, we’ll start with skincare, invest in a good skincare routine, first look up some good routines and experiment to see what works best for you. Second, make sure your hair is done nicely and if you can’t do that get a haircut that you don’t have to style. Third is your nails, it doesn’t take long to make sure they’re taken care of, just do it. Last tip is to control your body odor, also, find some scents that compliment you, this will get you a long way in receiving compliments and attracting the people you’re looking for.

Things to Take Care of
  • Skincare
  • Hair (Including Facial and Body Hair)
  • Your Nails
  • Body Odor Control
  • (Bonus) Cologne/Perfume that works for you

Make Time For Downtime

Just like rest days at the gym, it’s also important to take some time out of your day every now and then to spend time with the people that don’t get to see you as much since you started putting in so much work. This will make your resting time feel even better and in a sense, it makes you productive even when you’re not doing any work. You obviously have to consistently keep up with the important people in your life so just make sure you’re putting the effort forward and always keeping that in the back of your mind so you don’t become self-centered.

An addition I want to make is you can always introduce friends and family to the gym, it’s a great way to help them out and it’ll grow the relationship you hold a lot from having something like that to bond over.

Put It Into Action!

These are 3 great ways to improve different aspects of your life outside of the gym and I really believe that if you put these into action you’re going to be feeling even better in your day-to-day life. I know building muscle is our primary goal here and it always will be but we all want to be THAT guy/gal right? Right, so let’s get it all in check!
